Apollo is a collaboration between Ray Box and Emily Perry. Two musicians with very different stories, but a clear vision to help others.
ABOUT RAY
Ray's interest in music and the violin began at an early age, leading to successfully completing a Bachelors Degree, followed by a Masters and Licentiate Diploma in teaching from the prestigious Royal Academy of Music conservatoire.
During his time at the Academy, Ray studied the Enhanced Performance Techniques Pathway with Sophie Langdon. It was during this time that following an accident, Ray developed a keen interest in holistic wellbeing approaches to music performance.
Unable to physically play the violin for many months, Ray learned techniques such as visualisation, and used many holistic practices which allowed him to pass his performance exam with limited practice. Ray has since gone on to undertake a PhD which focuses on this topic.
ABOUT EMILY
Emily started music lessons at a very young age and progressed to a high level on the flute, as well as learning many other instruments such as violin, piano and saxophone. However unlike Ray, Emily took a different direction into the world of business.
Emily is a successful business owner, specialising in the world of people, business and holistic coaching. Emily has a Masters degree in Human Resource Management, and a number of professional coaching qualifications and is a member of the Federation of Holistic Therapists (FHT).
As a life long anxiety sufferer, this compounded with a serious episode when running her first business. It was coaching and various holistic therapies that gave Emily the tools to make some serious life changes, and as a result, she really understands and empathises with her clients.
Emily has coached many small business owners, helping them to find calm clarity, and has worked with them to set and achieve meaningful goals. She has also worked with individuals to support with various emotional issues, and creating lasting changes in their lives.
HOW IT STARTED
Ray and Emily began collaborating on Apollo after Emily began sneaking in her coaching techniques to challenge why Ray felt he couldn't take action on starting this business. They then felt that a joint collaboration utilising each of their strengths and professional skills would be a unique approach to the business.
Inspiration for the name Apollo was taken from the Greek God of music and healing. This figure was a prominent feature within the halls of the Academy and always something Ray was drawn to in his time there.
lOGO INSPIRATION
Apollo was often depicted riding a swan, whilst holding a lyre which in turn inspired the brand.
We felt that the image of a swan portrays a sense of calm whilst also being transformative which is how we see ourselves supporting our clients. A calming influence that encourages growth.
